Border Heroes was founded by Jaime Rolando Castillo, a seasoned journalist and advocate for Border Patrol agents. With a background in journalism and a heartfelt connection to border security issues, Jaime brings a distinctive perspective to our shared stories.

Born in Weslaco, Texas, Jaime lived in the border town of Laredo, Texas, for the first seven years and still calls South Texas home. Jaime's interest in border reporting was sparked during his graduate studies at Harvard, where he specialized in immigration coverage. His extensive research into the lives of Border Patrol agents for his Capstone project inspired him to amplify their voices and highlight their everyday challenges.

As a journalist and a steadfast friend, Jaime has built lasting relationships with numerous Border Patrol agents, ICE agents, Texas State Troopers, Texas Rangers, and local law enforcement officials along the border. His deep connections and firsthand observations equip our team with invaluable insights into the realities faced by those on the frontlines of our nation's border security.
